Family History •

Their family tells a story, that one of their great ancestors had made a promise to a legendary pokémon that has never been seen by any other human before. The pokémon was ill and required a potion that could save its life. The Lycar's ancestor told the legendary that he/she would go and find the ingredients that would save him. For a year, the human searched for the ingredients until all were gathered. Following the pokémon's instructions, the human brewed the potion. The pokémon told them specifically, "Do not smell it, cover your nose immediently. If you smell it, you'll fall under the potion's smell."

The Lycar's ancestor obeyed, although, as he/she went to the pokémon's resting place to give them the potion, they became more and more curious. It was believed that the potion could grant immortality to anyone who drank it. The human had forgotten that the pokémon also told them to cover it up and not stare at it. While the human was a very kind person, they were also foolish, and drank the potion; enchanted by its alure. Since the potion was a cure for the pokémon, it gave the human a temporary pain in their chest, but left no immortality.

Ashamed and afraid to return to the ill pokémon, the Lycar fled to the other side of the country, hoping they could forget the entire ordeal. Although, the ill pokémon had seen the Lycar and knew what they did. He found the human and cursed them; the curse would prevent the Lycars from ever baring female offspring, their eyes would glow a shiny, ivory-blue shade, the Lycar's hair would shimmer the same blue shade as the pokémon that they cursed, they would hear the voices of pokémon speaking their own tongue, and their chests would ache the way the pokémon's body does today.

Family Markings & Heirlooms •

All Lycars have tatoos on their right shoulders. The tatoo is a transmutation circle. It is said that this mark appeared after the pokémon cursed them, and appears on every single child born with the cursed father.
