He was rather captivated by the isles of tall trees with the golden and blood red leaves. He lived in a rather ordinary town his whole life. Well, it felt ordinary to him; the grass was green and the trees were short and the house-though it was beautiful-was just as normal. He was too young for normal. He would love to return to his home town when he grew old and wrinkled, but not today; when he had so much of a life to live.
He had finally gotten up the courage to tell his parents he was old enough to make his own decisions. Leaving home to become a pokémon master in the Rosaceous League was one of those decisions. He was proud of himself, he was taking a chance and making something of himself. There was nothing wrong with being a farmer or a business owner, but he wanted some adventure in his life. He wasn't the first Lycar to join the Rosaceous League. While his father remained at home, many of Zareef's uncles had left home to become trainers at a young age. He had only known a few of them who had returned home after serving their term. A couple others would stop and visit, which he only met once or twice.
Zareef could survive the elements; he was smart enough to figure things out. He could survive the loneliness as well, though pokémon were often all the company he needed. His heart ached a little as he carried along, a backpack again his shoulder blades. The pain in his chest was only a reminder of the family curse; it was a pain that came a went from time to time. Although, his heart beat rapidly with excitement when he saw the facility in the distance and read, "Celadon Laboratoty", on the sign.

Then when I got older I began to lie to get exactly what I wanted when I wanted it And I wanted it
The leaves were absurdly conspicuous in their bright shades of warm hues; reds, yellows and oranges. They grew in in small groupings; tall, and were easily spotted. They were pretty, and even Hadley could appreciate that. It was slightly chilly outside, the autumn weather did that, though it wasn't near enough to make her worry about her journey. Sure, maybe it was a bit late in the year to start something, but she'd get over it. Travelling was travelling, and this was possibly her only chance to make something of her life.
The outfit of the traveler consisted of a yellow tee-shirt, a tan vest, and black jeans. Her black belt was also on, though no Pokeballs hung in the sections it had for holding them. Black Converses were on her feet, aged from use, which was easily seen from the patches of dirt on them; the worn look that they tended to get. In her old, coastal town, she had worn them everywhere.
Upon nearing the lab, the girl would begin to curl inwards; caution seeming to seep into her form as she recoiled. It seemed that fear would fill her, or at the very least, that her pride was disappearing with each step. Such a thing was only an easy assumption; quick and easily come to from her posture.
The lab would finally be reached, and it seemed that a guy was there. okay, that was a less than desirable thing, but Hadley'd get over it. She didn't care that much...she'd just try and keep out of his way. There seemed to be an issue with that plan though, when he was heading into the lab as well. A new participant in the Rosaceous League as well? It seemed reasonable idea. She'd recoil inward further.
Hadley would move closer, but slowly, as though trying to keep out of sight; trying to keep behind the guy. She didn't want to start anything, for the natural aversion to men kept her from wanting to do that. Even so, if her were to speak, she'd respond of course; see what she could get out of it. Being an opportunist, such things were always on her mind.
Maybe this is all a part of my Flawed design

Zareef was dressed in dark blue jeans that were a little too long in the legs, the hem dragging under his heel. His shirt was a black dress shirt without the tie, the sleeves folded up to his elbows, and the collar outstretched slightly for more comfort. Zareef's shoes were high-top Converse, black and white. He had a brown strap hanging at his side, with holes meant to hold pokéballs.
A breeze rolled by, kicking up leaves off the ground and sending them his way. A few got caught in his collar, which he quickly pulled free and let the wind carry them away. Upon entering the laboratory, the wind kicked up once more, tossing a few leaves by him through the open door. They landed on the floor near his feet. He walked up to the front counter and looked around, fascinated by the piles of books, notebooks, and paper work.
Zareef felt comfortable in the Laboratory. The place seemed peaceful and he was greatly pleased with the pokémon that occupied it. Only seconds after entering did he see a furret run across the way and into another room, a pidgeot fly from the bottom floor to the top, and a butterfree fly in from another room and land on the frame of a photo hanging on the wall. He smiled and patiently awaited for a scientist to arrive.

[Gym Leader of Celadon Laboratory] Sarien awoke with a shock. Her body jumped up into a seated position in her bed. Though, she quickly realized she wasn't in her bed, she was laying on the floor. She placed her hand on the bed to her left and pulled herself onto her feet. She was having those dreams again; it didn't matter, she had a job to do. She walked into the bathroom, quickly brushing through her hair and pulling it up into a loose ponytail. Her hair appeared like flames dancing across her skull. She dressed herself in an average toned, light grey T shirt and a pair of black pants. Then, she pulled a white doctor's coat over herself and headed into the lobby.
There was already someone waiting for her; a teenage boy, clearly here for his starter pokémon. There were only two pokémon left that were available for Rosaceous League starters. In the corner of her eye, she could see a young girl approaching as well, through the glass windows. "Hopefully, they won't fight over them." She mentally told herself, hoping she wouldn't have to face childish yapping.

It seemed like the guy hadn't noticed her, and Hadley didn't mind all that much though. She was truthfully comforted by the fact that she wouldn't need to confront him. That seemed like a perfectly okay idea with her for now. Even so, it seemed pretty likely that they'd be forced to communicate soon. In the lab, it seemed pretty likely that something or another would occur...not that she knew what at this point, but with her luck, it just seemed likely.
The wind blew, and leaves fluttered into her hair; a pleasant sun-yellow shade, tinted with amber hues. She'd dislodge them, then step inside, arm stretched out to keep the door from slamming in her face because the guy hadn't seen her yet. She'd close the door gently behind her, and glance about the lab. Pokemon scuttled about, seeming pleased with their environment.
I wonder what Pokemon I'll be getting, the girl thought, as she glanced at the large amount that inhabited the laboratory. Even more were outside, and it seemed like she could be getting anything. A question passed through her mind, How many pokemon are kept here in total? She'd ponder the question for a few moments as she waited for a scientist.
Hadley's awkwardly pathetic stance was kept, pulled inward; nervous. It seemed like the best option at this point in time, yet, could it effect the final outcome of what she got? You wouldn't want to give a power house of a to someone too weak to control it, now did you? You needed a balance. I hope I'm not getting something too awkward or pathetic. I could train it up either way, but there are natural boundaries for everything. A nervous Pokemon will always be nervous and have trouble controlling particular commands, like fighting against a strong Pokemon of it's type weakness.
There was movement somewhere far off, and soon she realized something coming forward. A scientist? It seemed so, if the lab coat had anything to say about it. A sheepish grin would spread across her lips, and she'd wait for the currently nameless scientist to come closer, or the guy to notice her and begin to speak.

"This place is amazing," Zareef thought to himself as his eyes traveled around the building. He was gazing around the room for possibly a minute before he even realized that a person had entered the room. When his eyes met the woman, he quickly came to the conclusion that she was the scientist that ran the facility.
That was the point when Zareef actually realized that someone else had entered the facility. It was a girl, most likely no older than himself. She seemed uncomfortable, though he was rather certain that she was trying to ignore him. She did well, he almost felt as though she didn't even know he was there; only based on the cold shoulder he received.
All of Zareef's uncles had told him to expect only the unexpected when it came to the Rosaceous League. They all received starters that were completely unexpectable and all had experienced the unexpected on their journey. Zareef was confident that his experiences would be the same.

[Gym Leader of Celadon Laboratory] Sarien ran her fingers through her deep red hair, pushing the strands back and out of her face. She took a deep breath and walked over to a rack leaning against the wall. The rack had dips in it made to hold pokéballs. Only two pokéballs sat on the shelf; which Sarien picked up.
She tossed the balls into the air, both popped open to reveal a deep red light. The light beamed out and onto the floor, forming a shape on the ground. When the light vanished, the balls floated down to Sarien's hands. Where the light alluminated on the ground, two pokémon stood. "These are the only ones we have," Sarien told them. "You two must choose the want you would like. Tell me when you have decided and we can move on to the next part; in fact, I will take care of both of you at once."

Zareef looked down at the two pokémon before him. He was instantly captivated by the deep red fur of the vulpix. This one was a little different from ones he had seen in the past. Most vulpix were flashy and attention seekers. This vulpix acted differently. It seemed to have little care for Zareef's attention. It simply looked up at him with its little red eyes, without much expression. The vulpix's hair was a deep red and looked very silky, though was messy with long strands over his eyes. Zareef couldn't exactly put his finger on it, but he wanted him.
"I'll take him; the vulpix." Zareef said with a small smile to the scientist. He felt that this was the partner for him, the one that would bring him to the top. Zareef didn't always dream big, but this time; he would be the best soldier he could possibly become. The vulpix seemed unchanged by his choice; he would make this creature love him, one way or another. Perhaps, the vulpix-Reks-would be more like him than he ever could imagine.

[Gym Leader of Celadon Laboratory] "Very well," Sarien said, handing the young male trainer the pokéball that belonged to the young vulpix. "Once you earn your Rookie's Badge, you may head into the Rosaceous League. I'll battle you next," She turned her attention to the younger girl, handing her the pokéball belonging to the Cyndaquil. For a few minutes, Sarien dissapeared in the back, fetching two pokéballs containing water pokémon. She placed one on the hook on her pants and held the other one in her hand. She stepped outside, into the front of the Laboratory, expecting the young trainer to follow. She released the pokémon from the pokéball and awaited for the trainer to make the first move.

He wasn't too worried; this was Zareef's first real battle with another person, but he was confident he could beat the scientist. She seemed confident that she could drive him into the ground. This was way to early for him to crash and burn. "Are you ready?" He asked the vulpix. It said nothing to him, but began walking outside. Zareef followed the little creature into the front and prepared for battle. Before he could even give the young vulpix a command, it began to run for the water pokémon. Zareef growled, "What is he doing?" He thought. It whipped its tail against the totodile and turned to blast fire into its face. He didn't want to doubt his new partner, but he knew that he couldn't do it alone. Zareef studied pokémon behaivor and powers in order to prepare himself; he would never allow Reks to fight alone.
